Ingredients ( servings)

1 yellow onion, chopped

16 oz whole wheat spaghetti

25 oz marinara sauce

13 oz italian sausage (vegan), sliced

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp salt

12 cup parmesan cheese (vegan)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot. While waiting for the water to boil, heat up 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large pan under medium heat until hot.
  2. Add the yellow onion to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the sausage to pan and cook along with the onion for 6 minutes, until the sausage is slightly browned.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of salt to the boiling water and stir the pasta in.
  5. Once the sausage is browned, pour the jar of marinara sauce into the pan and simmer by reducing heat to low for at least 5 minutes.
  6. Drain pasta and remove sauce from heat.
  7. Serve spaghetti with sauce on top, sprinkled with parmesan cheese.
